TheraVida is developing a portfolio of innovative combination pharmaceutical products in the fields of urology and central nervous system disorders. Our initial programs under development at TheraVida are focused on the improved treatment of overactive bladder (OAB) and urge urinary incontinence (UUI).

The clinically-validated anti-muscarinic therapies currently on the market for the treatment of OAB and UUI are all plagued by severe, dose-limiting, dry mouth as a major side effect. Although these therapies are efficacious, the dry mouth side effect is the primary reason why patients discontinue the use of this class of medication.

In multiple human clinical trials, TheraVida has successfully demonstrated that its combination drug platform, when applied to anti-muscarinic therapies such as Ditropan (oxybutynin) or Detrol (tolterodine), is able to eliminate the significant and problematic dry mouth side effect associated with these agents. Meanwhile, the TheraVida products are capable of preserving or increasing efficacy (in terms of bladder control) in the treatment of OAB and UUI, when compared to Ditropan or Detrol alone.

TheraVida has completed Phase I and II proof-of-concept studies on its lead combination drug programs for OAB and UUI. The company is also expanding its platform, by creating combinations involving already marketed products for the treatment of various central nervous system (CNS) disorders.
